As interior architects, we like to be involved as early as possible in your building or renovation plans. This wonderful home shows the benefits that it offers you. From the living room over the kitchen to the cinema and wine cellar, the interior and exterior connect seamlessly everywhere.
When these customers wanted to realize their dream home, they returned to Master Meubel for the furnishing, after a pleasant and successful collaboration. They already had a beautiful location, in the middle of a large nature reserve. “We thought along with the customers throughout the building process,” says Master interior architect Hans. “This way we were able to give advice and help decide on the most diverse matters, from the use of color to the placement of sockets. Confidence grew steadily and this created a good relationship with the customers.”
In the living room there is a low track bench from Living Divani at the window. It can be used as a side table or as a sofa. The dining room was decorated with a B&B Italia table and chairs from Cassina. “The wall cabinet is a Porro Gallery that opens vertically, so less space is wasted.”
The seating area is somewhat separated by the steel fireplace volume. “We chose the color and the material to match the lamps and the cabinets. Another great example of the benefits of involving Master in the building process. In this way we gradually found the perfect interior together.”
In the seating area itself, Jean-Marie Massaud's 2014 Poliform Bristol sofa catches the eye. “It is set up in mirror image. One part points toward the reception area, and the other forms a more intimate, more private seating area. For this we combined the sofa with two Flexform Guscioalto Soft chairs by Antonio Citterio, the Knotowardll Grasshopper coffee table and a Belgian carpet from JOV.”
In a corner of the bedroom is a stylish Knoll Platner Arm Chair. The Maxalto Sella bench in the dressing room next door is handy and decorative at the same time. “For both the dressing room and the wall furniture in the office, we worked with custom cabinet systems from the Italian brand Porro,” says Hans. “We were able to fit it perfectly into the building plans.”
In the office space, guests take a seat in two luxurious COR Lounge Chairs with leather finish. The various terraces have garden furniture from B&B Italia and MDF Italia. The kitchen was fitted with a Knoll Saarinen table and Walter Knoll Liz chairs. “Thanks to the long wiring, the Flos Stringlight appears to be floating in double height.”
Thanks to the architecture of the house, daylight reaches into the basement. In the wine cellar, a sober bar table and stools by Charlotte Perriand were chosen, the bar cabinet was made by Rimadesio. “The showpiece is the cinema”, says Hans. “We also provided various ideas for this. For example, sloping black walls were installed in this room. And we didn't opt for the traditional folding chairs, but for an Edra Standard seating arrangement. The ideal interior to completely relax, just like in the rest of this house.”
