The Brussels Summer Festival was organized by BME (Brussels Major Events) from its inception in 2002 until 2014.
This multicultural, lively, and popular festival takes place in the heart of the city and features a broad program of music types ranging from rock to hip hop, jazz, pop, classical, and even world music.
From Texas to Hooverphonic, Patti Smith, Front 242, M, IAM, James Arthur, Channel Zero, Axelle Red, Suede, Archive, Charlie Winston, Level 42, Roger Hodgson, Iggy & The Stooges... to name a few, the BSF has welcomed hundreds of foreign and Belgian performers.
The event, which collaborated with cultural and/or festive partners active in the City of Brussels (such as various Brussels museums, bars, or restaurants) in order to offer the public a truly unique concept in addition to the outdoor and indoor concerts, is characterized by its popular approach and democratic prices.
Brussels Summer Festival happens in July and August which are the hottest months of the year. The weather during the festival can be quite intense in densely populated cities like Brussels, where temperatures can reach 38°C (100°F).
In the past, The Brussels Summer Festival was known as Eurit’mix and stemmed from the shared will of Brussels’ cultural, institutional and tourism actors to offer a cultural event at the very heart of the capital of Europe during the summer.
In 18 editions, the BSF has grown to become the most important cultural gathering of the summer in Brussels. Located in the historic heart of the capital, the festival welcomes several thousand festivalgoers every year at 3 locations.
